Poolman / Concrete Doctor

Biggest MISTAKE EVER!!! We went into contract with Poolman/Concrete Doctor out of Jacksboro TN on 6/17/2023. Let me be clear, I am going to go ahead and address everything the company will respond back too. Calvin had some issues he was going through, that was addressed the first day. I also asked him if that was going to effect the 16 week deadline on the contract he came up with? Because i would not go into bussiness with anyone that cannot hit the milestone he created. Other companies usually put 12 weeks, he had no issue with the deadline because he doesn't do the actual work his men do. On April 12th 2024 we terminated the contract. We still were waiting on him to pour our concrete. We went weeks without being able to get ahold of the company, we were cussed, lied too, excuses made you name it. Around a month and half into the contract we started texting and recording the progress being made. We were worried how this was going to end so we wanted to protect ourselves, WE WERE RIGHT! We have already contacted the BBB about this and of course everything he accused us of we countered with the recordings and messages. The craftsmanship is terrible, our steps are roughing 3 inches lower then the top, they are not square, they refused to come back and correct the code violation from the inspector because they know better then them. When they showed up they worked from 12-4, maybe 3 days a week. They had to remove about 25 ft of retaining wall because the steps were left out. They blamed my electrical for there hold up, even though the camera footage doesn't lie. On March 2024, they finally set my sand filtration system but forgot the sand. When we terminated them we already paid 102k, our pool is 18x36. We also wanted an additional 12x16 pad poured. After being fired he quoted us 9,109.00 to pour that additional pad. We got our entire pool poured & the pad for 8,000.00. The concrete company did a great job fixing the issues, glueing the top caps down, fixing both sets of stairs. But could not fix the height issues or how uneven they had set them up. I have had another pool company help me fix the wrinkles, sloppy liner installation and other issues. I am going to attach photos of the work Poolman did. During all of this we had to pay 5,400.00 up front for all of our equipment. We still haven't received the pool cover even though its in the contract. He told the BBB that he didn't have it and it wasn't apart of the contract. After contacting the company they purchased all of my equipment through that we paid for upfront, the pool cover was on the bill of sales. We haven’t heard from them since sharing that with the BBB. This is not the only place i will attach all of this information too, i have gave them several chances to drop my pool cover off and this would be over with and we would take the loss to move on. But i guess sometimes you have to learn the hard way. Please feel free to reach out to me on any of the information i have wrote about. Trust me i have it, and my goal is to make sure nobody else is taken advantage of. Don't ever pull permits for any contractor either. We knew two people that had good experiences with this company roughly 5 years ago. I would have given anything if i would have done more research and listened to my gut.
