About Platform Construction & Roofing
Who We Are
Platform Construction & Roofing is a local Dallas Fort Worth company, family owned and operated, that originated to fulfill a two-fold vision:
1. Platform’s name comes from the desire of the founders to provide a “platform” for young men and women to develop business, sales, leadership and entrepreneurship skills. These skills are meant to give them a launch pad for their future in ministry positions here in the country and/or abroad. This also ties in with Platform’s founders’ support of ministries around the world.
2. Platform strives to set a high “platform” of standard in the roofing industry. As dedicated as we are to the personal growth of our team members, we are just as dedicated to mastering our craft so as to always provide the utmost quality, service, integrity, reliability and knowledge to our clients. (Proverbs 14:23)

Though a standard question, it's important to ask. Most contractors will tell you how long they expect the job to take without you asking. If they don't volunteer that information, be sure to ask. It's also helpful to ask if that's a hard finish date, meaning that it's the definite finish date. If it's a soft finish date, it may be extended for any number of reasons.
This is important mostly for larger jobs. Clearly a two man operation is going to build a home much slower than a 15 man crew. This is also a good indication of the overall size of the Roofing company, if that's an area of concern for you. The reason you may want to ask about the fleet is that fleet size is a good indicator of the mobility of the company. Mobility may not sound important, but it's hard for the Arlington contractors to get to job sites if they lack appropriate vehicles.
This will be answered when you ask if all employees are licensed. The only way to obtain a legitimate tradesman's license is to be a legal or naturalized citizen of the US. The company may employ people in positions that don't require a license, however, so it's wise to inquire.
The question is great for some industries and non-applicable for others. A general contractor, for example, will by definition employ subcontractors. Most Arlington Roofing companies do not, but there are exceptions. You should always ask this question to your service providers. If they do use subcontractors, ask if they're all licensed and insured independently.
