Putting together a nursery can be challenging with so many great ideas nowadays. It becomes a little bit easier when you already know the gender of your baby, but what to do if you decided to wait until the baby is born to find out the gender?
Then you just need some neutral nursery decor ideas! Here are five ideas to get you started!
“A baby is as pure as an angel and as fresh as a blooming flower.” - Debasish Mridha
Colorful Scheme
I usually like to leave my favorite picks last, but this one is just too special! A wall decorated like that is simple to make - whether you go for polka dots or geometric shapes, you can use contact paper, paint, or adhesive wall decor. Besides, I’m sure you will find many gorgeous colorful rug options to complete the room.
More than that, choose a simple crib and dresser and add a bit more of color with some fluffy puffs on the floor!
Wildlife
This nature theme is also among my favorites, if you want to see me go crazy then just show me baby stuff with animals! This nursery manages to keep it neutral using mainly white on the decor and furniture and really going all in with the wall gallery!
Bright & Bold
Even though this nursery is bright and bold, the use of yellow manages to keep it a gender neutral room. If you want to make the space a bit more childlike, change the art pieces for animal paintings, stars and the moon painting, or some rainbows and cloud drawings.
Black & White
Monochromatic never goes out of style when it comes to decoration, but still, it’s rare to see it being used in the nursery. Everyone likes to bring out the colors for the baby, right?
However,
This black and white nursery is lovely and it can be completed with some colorful items and some plants.
Here are some ideas to add a pop of color:
- A toy box
- Child book display
- Rug
- Pillow covers
Simple & Neutral
The advantage of not going too big on baby-like decorations is that you won’t need to make big changes later when that same child grows up and decides they’re too old for woodland creatures on the wall.
So if you want to avoid the big renovation a couple of years from now, just stick to something simple. Adding a few nature touches, like the artworks above, is a great way to bring peace into the room.
