There are many ways you can create a gorgeous landscape in your backyard, and there are also many ways to landscape around a pool that will actually look amazing. The most incredible pool landscape designs usually involve lots of plants around, but that’s not the only thing that can work.
Today I’ve gathered a few ideas (yes, there are plants included too) to get you inspired in your project!
“This life is like a swimming pool. You dive into the water, but you can't see how deep it is. - Dennis Rodman
Succulents
Since succulents were such a fever last year and we simply still love them, you should definitely consider adding them to your pool landscape. You can choose bigger ones (like the photo above) or focus on several smaller ones inside some concrete containers - that would look stunning as well!
Tropical Plants
There’s really no escaping from landscaping with plants around the pool, but it’s also a matter of which type of plant you choose to add.
Of course,
The region you live in needs to be taken into account to know which type of plant will be best too. However, if tropical plants thrive in your area, that’s a great pick to go with your pool!
Checkers Landscape
Not only tropical plants, but how about making a combo with these plants and a gorgeous checkered lawn? It’ll give your pool a special look and make the whole place bright with joy! A checkered lawn will add character and personality to your landscape in a way no other element will.
And here’s another idea to add checkered, only this time without the focus on tropical plants (and with a bit more freedom regarding the shape of those “squares, heh):
Rocks
If you’re a fan of that kind of desert vibe, then you should totally go for this rock bed idea! It’s not like it’s a perfect representation of the desert, but it will give your pool a sort of oasis feel, don’t you think? You can even match rocks and succulents, maybe that’s not for the liking of everyone, but I do think they make a perfect pair!
Privacy
If you don’t really like the idea of using a privacy screen as most people do around their pools, you can create privacy using your landscape!. After all, plants are here for your benefit!
Here’s one more tip for you:
Combine tall trees with smaller plants to create levels and give your garden more personality.
Containers
One of my favorite ideas is using containers to decorate around the pool. Specially unique containers like the one from the photo above. I feel like they’re full of style and add both beauty and uniqueness to your landscape. Concrete containers are probably my favorite, but you can also pick the ones you like most from a variety of types, such as:
- Terra-Cotta
- Metal
- Stone
- Resin
- Plastic
Green Lawn
This one is probably the simplest idea of the list, all you need is to take care of your lawn so it keeps on being green and healthy! Maybe add some lights and a couple of plants in containers, you know, just to add some character. The spirit of this landscaping plan is really to keep it simple, so you don’t need to go crazy brainstorming new ideas.
