Scottish Stained Glass is well known in Houston and nationwide for creating the highest quality stained glass windows for more than 20 years. Our local artisans combine the same ancient stained glass techniques used by Scottish craftsmen for centuries, with the most modern materials and installation techniques.
Although most people consider stained glass to be all about beauty and elegance and it certainly is that it can also have some very practical benefits. For residents of Houston, stained glass of our hand crafted quality adds value to a home or commercial building. It can also add privacy and uniqueness to a homes entryway or bathrooms, and a feeling of exclusivity to a salon, spa, office, or high end restaurant. And it can block an unappealing view, replacing it with something stunning, without blocking the natural flow of light into the building at the same time.

Always ask for references, and always check them. Keep in mind though that the only references you'll get are people who the contractor is certain will give him a good review. You'd also be well advised to check online review sources in Houston as well, which will give you a broader view of customer satisfaction for a given company.
Many jobs in Texas will require municipal permits in order to be approved by the town's inspector. It's always good to ask who will be responsible for pulling those permits, and if you'll be expected to do it. You'll almost never be told to pull your own, but knowing that Houston Windows permits are required makes you appear to be a well informed customer.
This will be answered when you ask if all employees are licensed. The only way to obtain a legitimate tradesman's license is to be a legal or naturalized citizen of the US. The company may employ people in positions that don't require a license, however, so it's wise to inquire.
You'll always want to ask how long the company has been in business in Houston. While this isn't a guarantee that the company will do good work, companies with longevity on their side must be doing something right. That being said, there are newer companies that do great work. If the company is under three years old, ask where the owner was employed before and for how long. If he/she has a long history of employment, it's reasonable to infer that he or she decided to go into business for themselves after so many years of experience.
