Chuck is a nice guy and he did my roof well. But I hired him to also do my soffits. We agreed on a price and date in April2021....after the roof was done he said he would be back in two weeks to do the soffits. He never came back. I reached out to him in early September (5 months later) and asked if he would be returning. Again he promised with a few weeks he would come and do them. That was 7 weeks ago. I have given up on the empty promises. I never would have hired him to do the roofing job if he didn't intend to the the soffits. Now I have to find another roofing company to finish the job I wanted done. I cannot recommend him to anyone. Tom H.
Many jobs in New Jersey will require municipal permits in order to be approved by the town's inspector. It's always good to ask who will be responsible for pulling those permits, and if you'll be expected to do it. You'll almost never be told to pull your own, but knowing that Pine Beach Roofing permits are required makes you appear to be a well informed customer.
Some companies may require a 10% deposit, some may not require any. For larger projects, you'll almost always need to give a deposit, and it's good to ask how much the deposit will be before going forward with a project. The Pine Beach contractor will know how much they need for a deposit when they've given you the estimate, so ask early.
The question is great for some industries and non-applicable for others. A general contractor, for example, will by definition employ subcontractors. Most Pine Beach Roofing companies do not, but there are exceptions. You should always ask this question to your service providers. If they do use subcontractors, ask if they're all licensed and insured independently.
This will be answered when you ask if all employees are licensed. The only way to obtain a legitimate tradesman's license is to be a legal or naturalized citizen of the US. The company may employ people in positions that don't require a license, however, so it's wise to inquire.
