Alonza Lloyd 66 vernon place, mountt, vernon, ny 10552 (914) 523-5189 This guy Alonza lloyd is incompetent. basically a halfwit. He visited a property I was in contract to buy then did not complete the renovation loan report accurately. He sent me a renovation loan report that he previously completed in the past since all of the information filled was with details for another property and failed to include the information about my property. This was made even worse as he included contractor's name from other property which I never retained or had any connections with on my report. Alonza Lloyd even failed to identify major structural issues that were blatant. I reviewed his incorrect report then sent him my inspection report along with photographs as well as a revision to all of his errors, he then failed to make the corrections to his countless mistakes. He does not follow HUD guidelines, no one should ever retain his services. Lastly, to make things worst, he then started to ignore and forward all of my calls.
Many jobs in New York will require municipal permits in order to be approved by the town's inspector. It's always good to ask who will be responsible for pulling those permits, and if you'll be expected to do it. You'll almost never be told to pull your own, but knowing that Mount Vernon Additions and Remodels permits are required makes you appear to be a well informed customer.
This is very important, since an estimate is just that. Many contractors will submit a "paper estimate", meaning they've written the estimate down on paper. The bill is the true amount owed and will almost always say "Invoice" or "Bill" at the top of the page. The bill should also list the date it was issued, the due date of payment, and a list of services rendered.
The question is great for some industries and non-applicable for others. A general contractor, for example, will by definition employ subcontractors. Most Mount Vernon Additions and Remodels companies do not, but there are exceptions. You should always ask this question to your service providers. If they do use subcontractors, ask if they're all licensed and insured independently.
Though a standard question, it's important to ask. Most contractors will tell you how long they expect the job to take without you asking. If they don't volunteer that information, be sure to ask. It's also helpful to ask if that's a hard finish date, meaning that it's the definite finish date. If it's a soft finish date, it may be extended for any number of reasons.
